FULL JOB DESCRIPTION:

Southwest Louisiana Independence Center (SLIC) is seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSW) to provide morning care for adult females with intellectual disabilities. The position includes Monday–Thursday hours from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Lake Charles, and Fridays from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Westlake. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle with up-to-date auto registration, insurance and inspection to transport consumers to community activities and appointments. Medication administration training will be provided by SLIC, as one location is a medication-delegated home The Direct Support Professional is responsible for the physical care of our clients who may no longer be able to take care of themselves due to age, illness, injury, surgery, or disability. The ideal candidate must be able to care for our clients and their property with dignity, patience, compassion, and respect.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must be 18 years of age or older.


2. Valid Driver’s License, Current Up-to-date Auto (Registration/insurance/inspection)


3. Working Cell Phone with Data Plan (Must be able to download company apps)


4. Must be able to complete a Criminal Background report and clean driving record


5. Commitment to excellent client care


6. Must have Patience, Compassion, Positive Attitude, and be a Team Player

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Light Housekeeping


2. Assist with Cooking


3. Assist with Shopping


4. Meal Prep


5. Safely transport to community outings and appointments


6. Monitoring

PAY:

$12.00 per hour Mon. – Thurs. / $9.00 per hour Fridays

SCHEDULE:

Monday through Thursday 8:00am to 12:30pm

Friday 6:00am to 2:00pm
