On Call IT Support Technician

We are seeking a qualified individual or company to provide on-call IT support for our office in Honolulu, Hawaii. The person (or company) selected for the role will assist with physical IT issues that cannot be resolved remotely by our IT team. The position is as-needed, with no set hours or monthly commitment, and requires flexibility to respond to support requests when required.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install and replace hardware shipped to the office by GaN IT (hardware will be preconfigured prior to shipment).


• Troubleshoot unresponsive hardware, such as power cycling switches or addressing non-responsive printers.


• Repair and replace Ethernet connections, including cable termination and troubleshooting.


• Perform basic troubleshooting for network and hardware issues.


• Maintain accurate records of IT system changes (such as fixes, updates, replacements).


• Prepare work reports and updates for IT leadership.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
  
  
  
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.
  
  
  
  

Experience:

• 1–3+ years of experience in help desk, IT support, or computer technician roles.

Technical Skills:

• Basic network troubleshooting, including switches and printers.


• Ability to terminate Ethernet cables and troubleshoot connections.

Physical Ability:

• Ability to lift and carry 30–50 pounds.


• Ability to maneuver in tight spaces for equipment cabling.

Other:

• Must be a U.S. citizen.


• Must pass background checks required by GaN Corporation as DoD contractor.

Work Environment:

• This is an on-call position with no set hours or monthly commitment.


• The office is remotely administered by GaN IT, and support will be required only for physical issues that cannot be resolved remotely.
