The Facilities Assistant role is a hands-on, on-site role centered on the ongoing upkeep of the physical property. This role’s performance is measured using: guest review scores and visual inspections of the physical properties.
Essential Functions
Landscaping and groundskeeping work, including, but not limited to: trash removal, power washing, leaf blowing, raking, pool skimming, weeding, etc.
Provide in person support for guests during heavy check in and check out periods, ensuring that guests’ first and last impressions of Heirloom are positive and create repeat guests.
Work collaboratively with property operations to expedite maintenance ticket completion, particularly in cases of guest discomfort or distress, and coordinate onsite maintenance as well as guest support and resolution
Assist with requests for information: On site measurements, obtaining specs for appliances/equipment, photos, etc.
Meet third party repair & Maintenance vendors on site, as needed
Waste management: moving overflow trash to consolidation dumpsters, keeping consolidation dumpster areas neat and clean.
Transporting supplies to properties, as needed and at guest request
Changing batteries, air/fridge filters, routine maintenance, as needed
Assist maintenance team with touch up painting, tightening furniture, unclogging toilets, managing wall scuffs,
Complete time card and business expense report in accordance with company policy
Assist with communicating with guests to resolve any on site issues, as they arise.
Assisting the Property Operations team with walkthroughs, special projects, and tasks, as assigned
Provide in person support for guests after hours (case by case basis)
The Facilities Assistant will be assigned to our Victorian District (Zone 1) & Downtown District (Zone 2) in Heirloom’s Savannah portfolio. (Zone 1 has a total of 13 properties and Zone 2 has a total of 10 properties). These assigned properties are located around Forsyth Park and Downtown and are all roughly within 1 mile or less from one another. While some of these properties are within walking distance, the Facilities Assistant must have access to a reliable personal vehicle to transport supplies (mileage reimbursement provided).
Ideally, we would like to identify a candidate that lives in the vicinity for easy access to the properties. From time-to-time, the Facilities Assistant should expect to provide coverage/support to other zones/properties, depending on staffing levels and business needs. Please note that property assignments may be subject to change based on business needs. Any changes in the assigned area will be communicated to the Facilities Assistant beforehand.
Requirements
Requisites
Experience with basic facilities maintenance tasks
Valid driver’s license and upstanding driving record and access to reliable personal transportation
Comfortable going up/down 10-12’ ladders
Able to comfortably lift up to 50 lbs without assistance
Comfortable using mobile applications to track time and document work
Results oriented
Proactive approach to problem solving (critical thinker), resourceful
Schedule & Compensation
This is a part time role, you should anticipate ~25 hours of work scheduled each week.
This role is an on-site, in-person position, it does not offer hybrid or remote work opportunities at this time.
The anticipated work schedule is as follows:

10:00am to 6:00PM
Compensation for this position is hourly and based on experience. This position is non-exempt, and overtime eligible.
Training
The first 90 days of the role will be an immersive training, mentorship, and onboarding experience.
