About the company we're hiring for, JRPass:

JRPass.com, 16 years old, bootstrapped, £30M revenue. We build travel platforms for millions of people who visit Japan. We are transitioning from contractor-led engineering to building a permanent team culture.

Your new part-time role:

You work Monday to Friday, 4-5 hours daily. Your job is culture, standards, and team coherence - not coding volume. Define how this team works together. Hold the bar on AI-native code quality. Mentor four developers across Poland, Colombia, and the wider team.

What you bring:

• 8+ years building production systems.


• Led a small team.


• Deep code judgment.


• AI-native daily practice (Cursor, Claude Code).


• Comfort in remote, distributed, multi-timezone teams.

We are not looking for cheap labour.

A part-time technical leader sets tone and protects the founder from culture work that should not be his job.

Some of the best tech leads have family, parenting, or consulting commitments alongside. This role is designed for that.

Salary (50% time commitment):

• UK-based: £42,500 - £57,500 per year


• Poland-based: €52,000 - €71,000 per year


• LATAM (Colombia, Argentina, Brazil): $43,000 - $57,000 USD per year


• Other locations: Open to discussion within a remote-first environment
