We are seeking a Bus Greeter for our CYFS department. The Bus Greeter is the first point of contact at Osborne Association pick-up/drop-off locations for our new transportation program Loved Ones Link. In this role, you will create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for families and loved ones traveling to visit correctional facilities within New York State. You will assist with the boarding process, provide essential information and resources, distribute snacks, Osborne branded attire, and ensure a safe, smooth, and comfortable experience for all passengers.
Salary: $26.00/hr
Requirements
Essential Duties:
- Greet families and visitors with a friendly smile, eye contact, and a warm greeting.
- Make them feel comfortable and welcome as they arrive at the designated pick-up/drop-off locations.
- Show professionalism and courtesy in all interactions.
- Politely check that each client has the required documentation for travel.
- Verify they are at the correct pick-up location for their intended destination.
- Assist with any confusion regarding documentation or location.
- Be knowledgeable about the various programs and services offered by the Osborne Association.
- Accurately answer questions and provide information to families and visitors.
- Share available resources that may be beneficial to them.
- Help individuals board the bus safely and efficiently.
- Provide extra assistance to elderly passengers, those with disabilities, or anyone needing additional support.
- Ensure everyone is comfortably seated before departure.
- Distribute informational materials, such as brochures or pamphlets, about the Osborne Association and its programs.
- Offer light snacks or refreshments to enhance the travel experience.
- Provide Osborne-branded items, such as pens or keychains, to promote the organization.
- Oversee the entire boarding process from start to finish.
- Maintain order and efficiency to ensure timely departures.
- Address any safety concerns immediately.
- Stay vigilant and observant during the boarding process.
- Report any problems, concerns, or issues to the appropriate staff members in a timely manner.
- Follow established protocols for issue reporting.
- Be flexible and willing to assist with additional projects or events as needed.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the success of these initiatives.
- Represent the Osborne Association in a positive and professional manner at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of a High School Diploma/GED as a core requirement.
- Customer service or hospitality experience preferred
- Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse populations.
- Being bilingual in English/Spanish is highly preferred.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations effectively.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends and holidays, as scheduling may vary.

- Familiarity with local transportation networks, including bus, train, and other relevant modes of transport.
- Comfort using computers, tablets, and other technology for communication, data entry, and information retrieval.
