As the Resource Center Coordinator you will educate patients and family members on cancer information and provide support, compassion, and access to reliable resources. Assist the Patient Experience/Concierge Services department with the development and implementation of institute wide educational and Quality of Life grant funded programs, which may include patient outreach and support as well as other basic cancer information.  

Responsibilities:

• Patient facing staff in the PC Resource Center. 
• Monitors PC Resource Center programming and carries out daily duties. 
• Welcomes and orients PC staff, donors, new PC patients, and their families to the Resource Center. 
• Conducts tours, introduces available services and materials, and identifies PC patient needs through conversation; offers referrals and makes appropriate suggestions to the PC patient about Roswell Park programs and services. 
• Presents one-on-one infusion orientations to PC patients and their families; prepares bags; monitors inventory of contents and materials included. 
• Assist PC patients with wig and head covering fittings, places wig and head covering orders, and schedules appointments for wig fittings and referrals for stylist appointments.  
• Submits and records PC Resource Center wig orders and tracks orders for follow up as needed. 
• Keeps physical locations, closets, cabinets, and storage areas, clean, organized, and stocked. 
• Displays monthly cancer awareness topics; including, but not limited to, books, bulletin boards, brochures, displays, and fact sheets. 
• Compiles a variety of information for reporting and tracking purposes; maintains and updates databases and Excel documents with the PC Resource Center data (patient satisfaction surveys, wig tracking, daily visitors, supply and material inventory, and programming participants.) 
• Offers comfort items and informs on the Resource Center and Elevate Salon services available for our patients. 
• Networks with other cancer centers on matters such as educational materials and programming. 
• Stays current on Roswell Park services, daily happenings, and programs for promotion to patient and caregivers . 
• Attends and represents the Resource Center for internal and external events, promotional opportunities, and community events. 
• Provides input for submission and implementation of annual Quality of Life and other grants on matters such as budget spending and tracking of participants.  
• Handles incoming calls, voicemail messages, emails, incoming and outgoing mail, utilizes electronic health records, Microsoft Teams, and department dashboard; reviews and coordinates department calendars. 
• Promotes the Cancer Coach program by responding to inquiries. 
• Accepts, organizes, and distributes donations; overseas thank you note distribution and ensures completion as appropriate. 
•  Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.  

Requirements

 Education / Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in health-related field, Therapy, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Human Development, Education, English or a related field and the equivalent of four (4) years of fulltime experience in a health or education related field.  
• Possesses proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, email, and internet. 
• Possesses knowledge of medical terminology.
