Respiratory Therapist - PRN

Description

• Responsible for arranging and providing emergency coverage when the need arises.
• Assists in the maintaining an appropriate inventory of all necessary therapeutic equipment and supplies.
• Assists in maintaining therapy equipment is in good repair.
• Process Respiratory equipment- cleaning sterilizing as required.
• Maintains a clean and neat department.
• Explains purpose and procedure of treatments, tests, and equipment.
• Conducts Physician prescribed treatments of a routine nature operating oxygen devices, aerosol treatments, chest physical therapy, and specialized tests.
• Ensures adequate maintenance of ventilation during Cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• Records all pertinent information of treatments and response to treatments in the patients electronic medical record.
• Transport patients to and from available rooms and prepares the patient for all Respiratory Therapy outpatient procedures.
• Scans results of Respiratory Therapy procedures into the patients electronic medical record and insures a copy of record is sent to the patients primary care Physician.
• Performs any other duties assigned by your supervisor or administration.
• Reports treatments to be conducted and condition of patient to relief personnel.

Requirements

EDUCATION/ LICENSE:

• Completion of study in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.
• One must also be Certified or Registered by the National Board of Respiratory (NBRC) and must also have a valid license issued by the Mississippi State board of Health.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT/CRTT)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
