Summary

This role is designed to provide adults with disabilities with a place of employment that fosters the concept of community integration. Responsibilities are working closely with the store manager and floor supervisor to help customers find products in the store, answering questions and helping customers decide which products to buy. Keep shelves stocked, and inventory sorted. Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages such as coffee and boba drinks. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Welcoming and  engaging with customers as they enter the store
• Assessing customers’ needs and suggesting solutions to their problems
• Working with  cash registers and processing payments
• Giving  customers advice about sales and promotions
• Cleaning and restocking the store throughout the day, before opening and after closing
• Taking drink orders
• Preparing and serving beverages such as drip coffee, espresso-based drinks, tea and other specialty drinks
• Maintaining  espresso machines, grinders, coffee machines and other equipment by cleaning
• Keeping the  work environment and cafe seating area clean, sanitary, and organized

Minimum Qualifications

• The ability to be trained in the following:
• Use of a cash register 
• Professionalism at work
• Inventory stocking procedures
• Ability to perform in fast-paced environment
• Basic math skills
• Communication skills
• Make/serve Coffee

Physical Demands· 

• Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and walking· 
• Regularly required to talk and hear· 
• Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms· Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl ·
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds; this may be more with some work assignments · 
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus· Reasonable accommodation may be made to assist individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
