Ox-Bow as an artist-built community is dedicated to the preservation of time and space for arts education, research, practice, and community building for artists at all stages of their artistic journey.
The Retail Associate will assist customers at Ox-Bow House in Douglas, Michigan. The Associate assists with store operations, including helping customers with purchases and questions about Ox-Bow School of Art and Artist’s Residency. The Associate will help keep the store clean, organized, and aesthetically pleasing. The Associate will report when inventory and/or supplies are running low. The Associate provides excellent customer service, representing Ox-Bow in a positive light and playing an important role in the store's overall success. The Associate will be a strong communicator who is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Ox-Bow’s programs and mission, and will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. The Associate works directly with the Retail & Program Manager, the Deputy Director, and other staff to ensure a cohesive working environment.
This position is 12 hours on average per week, but could be between 6-20 hours occasionally. The position will be set hours, ideally every Thursday and Saturday with the flexibility to cover other days as needed on occasion. Weekend availability is required. The position will be mainly report to Ox-Bow House in Douglas, but will require occasional support of events at our campus in Saugatuck.
