What does the Cheekwood Retail Team do? 

At Cheekwood, the retail team oversees the operations of two gift shops on the property. The Garden Gift Shop sells gardening tools, décor, and children's items. The Mansion Gift Shop is located inside the Historic Mansion & Museum, selling jewelry, art, and gift items. The shops are open 9am-5 pm. During Holiday Lights, (mid-November-first week in January) we open our Holiday Shop which is a high-volume shop selling holiday merchandise.  In addition to the shops being open from 9am-5 pm, they are open from 5pm-10pm during Holiday Lights. 

What will you be doing?

The Retail Inventory Coordinator will work primarily on receiving and inventory, while also providing floor coverage to maintain proper knowledge of stock levels, hear customer feedback and understand sales associate needs. This position is operational, while also being customer-facing, requiring customer service and communication skills. 

Responsibilities

Inventory & Operations

• Receive shipments in a timely manner and ensure accuracy of pack slips and invoices. 
• Enter purchase orders and receive merchandise into inventory system. Create product descriptions, categorizing and pricing items. 
• Price items competitively, ensuring proper markups and profits while accounting for planned discounts. Maintain below 45% COGS in all areas.
• Track upcoming orders and maintain detailed logs of order status for the entire year.
• Communicate with Retail Manager and Buyer as needed regarding pricing, item setup, stock levels, merchandise needs, order discrepancies or backorders. 
• Maintain a clean and organized stockroom.

Customer Service

• Greet visitors as a Cheekwood representative, offering excellent customer service with a genuine friendly attitude while providing information and assistance to customers. 
• Operate Point of Sale system - complete sales, returns and various other transactions while providing floor coverage.
• Fill in for floor coverage on weekends, event days and during slow receiving periods. Cover lunch breaks regularly.

This position will be scheduled for two to three shifts (Tuesday through Friday) and one day shift on the weekend (Sundays), for a total of 20-28 hours each week. During Holiday Lights (November-December), night shifts will be required.

• Customer Service experience required. Retail experience preferred. 
• Experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Office and Outlook.
• Pleasant service-oriented demeanor and strong customer service skills. 
• Ability to remain productive and motivated while working alone. 
• Flexible schedule - must have the availability to work 16-28 hours each week and ability to work nights & weekends. 
• Willing to walk/stand for long periods.
