Job Description

Parts Express is seeking energetic, detail-oriented, and hardworking retail sales associates must generate sales while providing outstanding customer service along with customer retention by building a relationship with the customer. Must also assist in maintaining the appearance of the store through merchandising and general housekeeping duties along with safeguarding company assets.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge all customers as they enter the retail store.
• Assist customers with product selections and locating merchandise.
• Operate a computerized point of sale system with ability to complete all types of transactions (cash, credit, check on accounts and refunds).
• Handle incoming phone calls in a professional manner.
• Assist in merchandising and display maintenance of store stock.
• Assist in the replenishment of merchandise and monitoring of store stock.
• Establish effective working relationships with team members in other departments.
• Participate in special events and promotions.
• Any other duties required.

Skills and Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic electronics, audio systems, and speakers for home, pro, and car audio required.
• Some retail experience preferred.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
• Working knowledge of a computerized point of sale system.

Working Conditions

This position works in a retail store environment. While predominantly indoors, this position will not necessarily be protected from temperature changes and may occasionally be required to go outside where he/she will be subjected to varying weather conditions.

Physical requirements

• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and the like.
• Constantly moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
• Constantly moving about to accomplish tasks.
• Constantly adjusting, manipulating, or moving objects up to 50 lbs. in all      directions.
• Must be able to clearly communicate with others to exchange accurate information.
• Frequently operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
• Constantly assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
• Constantly reading and analyzing information and data.
• Constantly using retail, office, and distribution center machinery including cash registers, computer, scan guns, wave machines, etc.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule
