Retail Sales Clerk

This position is located in Princess Anne, Maryland. Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Wilmington is seeking a Retail Sales Clerk who will be responsible for the daily operation of the thrift store at Seton Center. 

The schedule for this part-time position may vary, based on operational needs, during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Essential Functions:

• Sells merchandise to the general public using a cash register.
• Maintains clothing displays by sorting, hanging, and distributing, clothing to the sales floor.
• Manages the donation, receipt and filing systems.
• Arranges store displays, organizes the clothing racks, tables and shelves and restocks goods to keep inventory fresh and at proper levels.
• Receives donated materials from the general public.
• Maintains financial and other records.
• Handles contribution calls and records the contributor’s full name, address, telephone number and articles being donated.
• Schedules home pick-up dates for donations, writes the pick-up slips, and files with all driver pick-ups for the scheduled day.
• Creates and maintains filing system.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent one year of experience in an office or customer facing environment.
• Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner.
• Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships; interact with the public in a helpful, courteous, and friendly manner.
• Good math skills and the ability to use a cash register.
• Ability to organize and handle a high-volume workload.
• Ability to safeguard access to confidential, or sensitive, information and data.
• Ability to build trust and rapport with individuals from diverse cultural, socio-economic, and ethnic backgrounds.
• Willingness to consent to a satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening in accordance with applicable laws.
