Retail Team Member - Chicago

Job Summary:

OGX is seeking Retail Team Members to assist with retail and photo operations while also preserving the cleanliness of the space. This temporary role is expected to run through September 2025. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and has knowledge of guest support and interactions. This part-time position may be scheduled up to four (4) days OR 26 hours per week. This part time position pays $18.50 per hour.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the Retail Lead to ensure that the area is clean 
• Maintain cleanliness of the retail area including sweeping floors, wiping down surfaces, and removing trash
• Have a “go beyond” mindset when helping guests.
• Create a fun and welcoming environment for guests
• Report needed repairs and maintenance 
• Cash out guests
• Answer questions about retail items
• Additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary standing position more than 75% of the time
• Must be able to move about inside the exhibit space
• Must be able to commit to a minimum of two shifts, one of which must be on a weekend day 
• Constantly positions self to clean and maintain exhibit equipment 
• Frequently lifts and moves items / equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
• Able to work a variable schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

Your experience:

• High school diploma (or its equivalent) preferred 
• Knowledge of cash handling
• Knowledge of guest services
• Previous retail experience
