RHC Biller

Job Summary:

Billing Clerks are responsible for collecting payments and creating payment arrangements for patient accounts along with maintaining an accurate accounting of patient account balances and generating/sending out invoices to secure payment, while following up on overdue accounts.30-40 Hours Biweekly.

Job Duties:

• Prepares bills and invoices for medical services and treatments received. 

• Prepare crossover and credit balance reports for federal agencies 

• Gather patient insurance and financial information to generate payment for the facility. Updates and obtains medical authorization for payment from insurers.

• Regularly updates Medicare and Medicaid information.

• Monitors debts and unresolved patient accounts by filing claims. 

• Processes commercial, auto, and worker’s compensation insurance claims. Prints and mails primary and secondary claims daily.

• Refiles claims. Makes corrections on claims when necessary.

• Reviews Explanations of Benefits (EOBs) and enters them into the system.

• Enters work denials into the system.

• Balances adjustments by manager code.

• Performs other job-related duties as requested.

Education/Qualification Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED

Experience:

• 1-2 years of previous experience in a medical/healthcare office setting is preferred but not required.

Language Skills:

• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.


• Additional languages preferred.
