Job Description - RISE Academy 2025-2026 School Year Physics / AP Physics Teacher

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Physics / AP Physics Teacher to join our growing faculty.

  • Data & Assessment: Use data to differentiate instruction and ensure all students are progressing toward mastery in both conceptual and applied physics.

  • Innovation: Incorporate hands-on, inquiry-based learning and integrate technology and STEAAM principles to cultivate a deeper understanding of physics.

  • Professional Growth: Demonstrate a growth mindset by participating in ongoing professional development and contributing to a collaborative learning community.

  • Community Outreach: Maintain open and proactive communication with families, and participate in school-wide events and community-building initiatives.


Responsibilities include:



  • Planning and delivering high-quality lesson plans that align with AP standards and RISE’s instructional goals.

  • Modifying instruction to accommodate different learning styles and abilities, including students with IEPs.

  • Creating meaningful lab and inquiry-based learning experiences that deepen conceptual understanding.

  • Assessing student progress through a variety of formal and informal methods and providing timely feedback and support.

  • Maintaining a positive, structured, and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning and student development.

  • Collaborating with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects, student support, and school-wide initiatives.

  • Participating in professional development, faculty meetings, and curriculum planning.

  • Upholding the school’s values in classroom instruction and interpersonal interactions.

  • Supporting extracurricular activities and other duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Qualities



  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Physics, Science Education, or a related field.

  • Strong content knowledge of high school Physics and AP Physics (Algebra-based or Calculus-based).

  • Ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learners effectively.

  • Effective classroom management and student engagement strategies.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

  • Familiarity with educational technology tools and lab equipment.

  • Commitment to fostering student growth in a values-based academic environment.


Preferred Skills/Qualities



  • Master’s degree in Physics, Science Education, or related field.

  • Valid teaching credential (preferred but not required).

  • 2+ years of experience teaching high school Physics and/or AP Physics.

  • Experience with AP Physics curriculum, assessments, and College Board alignment.

  • Demonstrated success in project-based or experiential learning environments.
