Job Summary
Responsible for providing nursing care, interventions, education, and support to patients and families during weekends and holidays on call.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Northern Illinois Hospice supports our employees’ wellbeing and regularly benchmarks with other companies in our industry to offer an extensive Total Reward package for this position. The expected base wage range for this role is $38.00 - $54.00 per hour. However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Requirements
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, minimum associate degree in nursing, Bachelor of Science Degree (BSN) in nursing preferred.
Training and Licensure: Professional Registered Nurse license issued by the Illinois Board of Nursing. Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN) preferred (or obtained within 2 years of employment). CPR Certification obtained within three months of hire.
Experience: One year of medical/surgical, oncology, or hospice nursing experience. Minimum 2 years of experience as a registered nurse preferred. Active patient contact within past three years preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Ability: Ability to work independently, make accurate, and at times, quick judgments. Ability to supervise others appropriately. Ability to respond appropriately to crisis in the community or facility setting. Acceptance of and adaptability to different social, racial, cultural, and religious modes.
Other: Local residence with ability to respond to on-call within 60 minutes. Meets agency requirements for criminal background check.
Expected Hours of Work: Every weekend, 8:00am - 8:30pm Saturday and Sunday
