Sales Assistant

Job Summary:
A Sales Assistant supports the sales team and helps customers have a positive shopping experience. The role involves assisting customers, maintaining product displays, handling transactions, and ensuring the sales area is organized. A good Sales Assistant is friendly, reliable, and willing to learn about the products, equipment, and sales process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Welcome and assist customers with product inquiries and purchases
• Provide accurate information about products, prices, and promotions
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process payments
• Maintain clean and organized shelves and displays
• Restock merchandise and monitor inventory levels
• Assist customers in locating products in the store
• Handle returns or exchanges according to store policies
• Learn how to properly use store equipment and understand the sales process
• Support team members and help meet sales goals

Required Skills:

• Good communication and customer service skills
• Basic math skills for handling payments
• Ability to work well in a team
• Willingness to learn about products, procedures, and equipment
• Attention to detail and organization

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Previous retail or customer service experience is helpful but not always required

Work Environment:

• Retail store or sales floor
• Standing for long periods and interacting with customers
• May involve lifting light merchandise and organizing displays

• Efficient in the Microsoft Suite - Excel, Word, Outlook
• Must have the ability to create invoices and conduct business in a professional manner, whether it's in person, over email or on the phone
• Assistant will work directly side by side with Judy to assist in her needs as a Sales professional
• Must have a working understanding of the sales process and follow instructions
• Customer service and professionalism must be top notch, as they will be speaking directly to clients at times
• Will need to learn a little about the product so there is some understanding of the products and services that Judy sells
• Must have the ability to stay organized, problem solve, think outside the box and pay close attention to detail
• Will be trained on budding and reading drawings
• Need to have a clear understanding of the position and equipment
