Coordinate and schedule patient appointments for consultations, diagnostic tests, treatments, and follow-up visits.
Ensure accurate recording of patient information, including demographics, medical history, and insurance details.
Communicate appointment details to patients via phone, email, or in-person interactions.
Modify schedules as necessary to accommodate urgent cases, cancellations, or rescheduling requests.
Resource Management:
Review orders for correctness and authorization requirements. Request new or revised orders when needed.
Utilize many different provider portals to verify eligibility, benefits, and pre-authorizations.
Optimize scheduling processes to minimize downtime and maximize resource utilization.
Patient Communication and Education:
Provide clear instructions to patients regarding appointment scheduling procedures, pre-operative preparations, and post-operative care.
Advise patients of potential out-of-pocket costs and connect them with financial resources
Address patient inquiries and concerns regarding scheduling, insurance coverage, and other administrative matters.
Educate patients about the importance of adhering to appointment schedules and following medical recommendations.
Record Keeping and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of patient appointments, procedures, surgeries, and related activities.
Ensure compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA) in handling patient information and medical records.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
Customer service experience is highly preferred.
Compensation:
$20.00 -$23.00 per hour, depending on education and experience.
Discretionary bonuses, relocation expenses, merit increase, market adjustments, recognition bonuses, and other forms of discretionary compensation may be available.
