School Based Therapist 2025-2026 School Year

Are you a compassionate and dedicated mental health professional looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and adolescents? Join our team as a School-Based Therapist! In this role, you will provide essential therapeutic support to students within their school setting, working closely with educators, parents, and other mental health professionals. You will provide services in Elementary, Middle and High schools throughout either Walton, Barrow or Athens-Clarke school districts, to be determined prior to hire.  You will be responsible for scheduling student sessions, at the schools you are assigned, based on the schools operating hours.  Organization and attention to detail will play a strong role in your ability to maximize the numbers of students that you can see daily, at each school.



 

Responsibilities

• Provide individual therapy sessions to students
• Conduct assessments to determine students' mental health needs
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of therapy sessions and student progress
• Offer crisis intervention and support as needed to students and families

Requirements

• Master’s degree in social work or a related field
• Valid state licensure as a therapist or clinical social worker or licensure eligible 
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license 
• Ability to travel between schools
• Must carry a professional liability policy
• Experience working with children and adolescents in a mental health setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build rapport and engage effectively with students and staff
