Summary

Seeking a dedicated, compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to support our Extended School Year (ESY) summer program, serving students. This is a part-time, short-term opportunity ideal for school nurses, pediatric nurses, or healthcare professionals seeking summer work with a Monday–Thursday schedule and guaranteed long weekends off.

Nurses will work independently at a single assigned site and play a vital role in maintaining student health and safety throughout the program. Flexible options are available for those interested in covering either the full 6-week term or a shorter 1–3 week shift depending on district needs.

What You’ll Do

• Work Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM each week — Fridays off throughout the summer


• Serve as the primary medical professional on-site during the ESY program at one assigned school location


• Provide direct health care, supervise medical needs, and ensure the safety of students during the three-hour program window


• Administer medications, respond to chronic conditions, and manage emergency care plans


• Maintain clear communication with families, staff, and internal district nurses


• Document daily health notes and ensure compliance with state and district health standards


• Provide basic first aid and respond quickly to any student health concerns or incidents


• Support student populations across special education and general education needs

Experience You’ll Need

• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license


• Experience in school nursing, pediatrics, or youth-based healthcare strongly preferred


• Comfortable working independently while staying connected to the district’s nursing team


• Able to manage a wide range of student medical needs, including seizure protocols, allergy response, asthma care, and daily medication administration


• Organized and detail-oriented when it comes to maintaining documentation and following healthcare plans
