Seasonal Grain Operations Laborer

Position Overview:

This seasonal position is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the grain operations industry. This position has flexible schedule options and is available part time all year around with extended hours available during harvest (September-November). 

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Grain Facility Maintenance: Ensuring the grain bins and site are clean and organized, ensuring grain is in good quality.  This includes tasks like greasing, replacing mechanical parts, repair projects, shoveling, and sweeping. 
• Material Handling: Assisting with unloading corn and soybeans into the correct pits for storage/drying. 
• Equipment Operations: Operating and monitoring dryers, augers, and other grain equipment 
• Safety Compliance: Adhering to all safety procedures and guidelines, including the proper handling and storage of materials

Education and Experience

• No previous experience required. Background in the grain industry is a benefit.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to follow all laws and regulations.
• Ability to stand, walk and be on feet.
• Ability to bend, reach, squat & kneel.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• Capable of doing repeated actions.
• Effectively communicate with team members.

Work Environment

• Schedule: This is a part time position. Schedule arranged with Director of Grain Operations. Part time, non-exempt.
• Environment: The majority of the time will be spent in the grain sheds, bins, or outdoors on site. The noise level is usually moderate.
• Travel: No travel requirements.
