Job Description - Service Team Coordinator

Description

POSITION SUMMARY:  

The Service Team Coordinator must have a love for God, a love for children, and a heart to minister and help them grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ in the spirit of faith. The successful candidate will be driven by the mission and vision of our senior pastors. Our mission is to take Superkids, disciple them intensely in the Word of God, teach them an uncommon faith and help them stand victoriously in life. This position primarily supports children’s ministry for the preschool department of EMIC and reports to the Children’s Ministry Pastor.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach and lead children in a classroom setting every Sunday, Wednesday, and at special events.
  • Teach lessons & activities that are prepared for each service.
  • Gather supplies for object lessons, crafts, and snacks prior to each service.
  • Organize the classroom to be welcoming, safe, and exciting for children.
  • Must be able to step into any preschool classroom and lead if the need arises.
  • Responsible to see that each child’s needs are met spirit, soul, and body. 
  • Follow all SKA, OSHA, Ministry Safe and classroom procedures.
  • Ensure that your classroom volunteers follow all SKA, OSHA, Ministry Safe and classroom procedures. 
  • Maintain a strife free environment in the classroom as it relates to children, volunteers, parents, and staff.
  • Pray over children, families, & volunteers of EMIC.
  • Demonstrates a servant’s heart towards the families served.
  • Communicate necessary information to children, volunteers, parents, preschool coordinators and Children’s Pastor.
  • Recruit, train, and build relationships with volunteers. 
  • Follow-up on new visitors in your classroom, absentee children, and the at the Children’s Pastor’s direction.
  • Document communication within EMIC Church software. 
  • Maintain group page on EMIC Church software.
  • Schedule volunteers on a weekly basis.
  • Arrive on time for all Preschool Programming as directed by the Children’s Pastor
  • Assist Children’s Pastor in promoting the mission/vision of EMIC and Superkid Academy to volunteers, parents, and children.
  • Attend SKA trainings and meetings.
  • Help develop curriculum and creative writing when asked.

Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • High School graduate or GED preferred.  

Experience:

  • Previous and demonstrated childcare experience – minimum one year.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Must have the knowledge of the Word of God and be able to minister to children and adults.
  • Must operate with pre-emptive thinker, must be discerning and able to make good judgement decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Confidentiality and trustworthiness are required.
  • Must have good communication skills. 
  • Must have effective interpersonal skills and be courteous to a diverse group of people.
  • Must be proficient in time management, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize.

Other:

  • Must be a member of EMIC, attend church services when not on duty to receive from the Pastors, an active tither to EMIC, and support the leadership of EMIC.
  • Born again believer and must adhere to the doctrines of this organization as upheld by Kenneth and Gloria Copeland and their appointed representatives.
  • Must work well with others, as a team and according to Romans 16:17; must not cause dissension, difficulties or divisions.
  • Must maintain a good attendance record.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Children under your supervision.

EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:

  • Typical equipment related to children’s ministry.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds, flexible, and agile enough to function in a regular office and children's ministry setting.

TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS: 

  • Must be able to communicate professionally under stressful conditions related to children and parents.

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

  • Must work some evenings and/or weekends. Work schedules are developed monthly with some flexibility.
