Position: Shift Lead
General Summary:
The Shift Lead is responsible for front desk operations during their shift, serving as an expert and example in front desk policies and operations ensuring a high level of customer service. The Shift Lead is an advocate between part-time staff and gym management; the Shift Lead proactively leads and trains other staff in collaboration with the Assistant Manager, Gym Operations Manager, and other Shift Leads.
Core Functions:
- Lead front desk operations, including opening and closing duties.
- Collaborate with Assistant Manager, Gym Operations Manager, and other Shift Leads to facilitate a high standard of operations, communication and training of front desk responsibilities.
- Be an expert on company processes, products, software, and customer experience.
- Maintain positive relationships between customers and the gym through effective communication and outreach.
Principal Activities:
FRONT DESK MANAGEMENT:
- Perform front desk duties, serving as customer service role model and mentor to other staff.
- Promote sales of all Edgeworks products and services.
- Delegate tasks and lead staff.
- Consult and communicate policy changes, offerings, and front desk processes.
- Execute tasks as assigned.
PROGRAM SUPERVISION:
- Ensure that Edgeworks Program Instructors are on task and giving 100% attention to students (and parents when needed).
- Interact and develop rapport with program participants and parents, and sell programs/memberships.
FACILITY MAINTENANCE:
- Oversee physical condition of the gym (cleanliness, maintenance of professional appearance, supplies).
RETAIL SALES:
- Ensure retail area is stocked, clean and presentable to customers.
- Collaborate with Edgeworks retail buyer and retail coordinator to ensure consistent and high-quality display of all available products and retail training of staff.
CULTURE AND COMMUNITY:
The Shift Lead is at the forefront of the culture and community of Edgeworks Climbing and must:
- Maintain a crucial role in the welcoming and exciting culture and community at Edgeworks Climbing.
- Lead staff in supporting a progressive culture and community.
OTHER DUTIES:
- Review/Approve membership forms and change requests.
- Contribute actively to team efforts and goals as needed.
