We have 1 Part-Time CBA position as a Simulation Maintenance Technician II supporting the Type II Heavy Crane Training Simulator (CTS) and other Task Orders and devices as required at Fort Leonard Wood, MO on the Army Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS) Maintenance Program (ATMP).
This Part-Time position is not to exceed 777 hours per contract year (Period of Performance - July 1st to June 30th).
Note: This position is pending contract award with a possible start date the end of June 2023.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interface with the local installation’s designated Government representative to coordinate training, exercise, and test schedules with maintenance activities, and resolve problems on the devices or at the sites.
- Interface with other Task Order 19 Simulation Maintenance Technicians, Site Manager, and Prime/Subcontractor management to coordinate work activities and resolve problems on the devices or at the sites.
- Ensures maintenance on all CTS devices is performed IAW technical manuals and requirements.
- Perform operational test on all repaired or replaced repairable items after corrective maintenance is performed and before returning them to the supply room.
- Perform corrective action and troubleshooting, including using tools and test equipment such as multi-meters to diagnose faults.
- Perform maintenance support anywhere the training device is located within installations training area or boundaries.
- Applies networking knowledge to resolve network setup and configuration issues.
- Analyze equipment failure to determine cause and correct failure/fault by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex electronic/electromechanical equipment and systems, subsystems, local area networks and peripheral workstations.
- Applies basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve problems of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
- Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.
- Accurately maintain component and parts levels in storeroom.
- Perform rust prevention and corrosion control.
- Ensure each training simulator is free of dirt/dust or standing water (best commercial standards)
- Captures and records accurate and timely maintenance history ensuring that unique corrective measures for work orders and repair are annotated into the Management Information System (MIS).
- Keep training area clean and free of clutter.
- Requires limited supervision.
Requirements (Minimum Qualifications):
Associate's Degree in Electronic Technology (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university and three years minimum work experience in a related discipline or three years related military training or a combination of education and experience.
- Three years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in computer systems / networking, and simulation platform maintenance.
- Prefer past work experience with computer systems / networking, and military simulation platform maintenance.
- Experience with Microsoft Office software operations.
- Ability to interpret wiring diagram and schematics.
- Must possess good written composition and verbal communication skills, ability to express facts and rationale with corporate administrative, technical personnel, and local Customer.
- Motion Base systems theory and operations experience desired.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance as required, along with a Government Common Access Card (CAC) for access to specific training systems and to access other installations and/or a military installation access permit.
Work Environment:
- Able to stoop, bend, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and climb ladder up to 25 ft.
- Must be able to travel to various locations across the U.S. for training.
- Must be able to work occasional shift, night, weekend, or holiday hours in support of military training.
- May be required to work in extreme cold and heat conditions.
