We are looking for someone energetic and passionate about working with kids to join the team as a Site Director in our Sharon Elementary School location in Sharon, TN.

SUMMARY: Responsible for all aspects of the operation of a single or multiple Healthy Kids Extended Day site Programs. This candidate must have a true understanding of the importance of education in children’s lives and will cultivate trust, caring relationships with children, families, host schools, staff and each local community.

REPORTS TO: Regional Director/Executive Director in the absence

JOB DATES: Follows School District Calendar

JOB STATUS: Part-time, non-exempt

PAY: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour based on experience

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Providing warm, nurturing care for children during the hours of operation.
  • Ensure staff and program complies with state licensing guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies and host school policies.
  • Direct daily activities which include: fitness activities, group games, arts & crafts activities, reading, homework completion and other indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Perform administrative management functions to include accurate attendance records, accurate registration materials (profile pages, allergy and medical paperwork), accurate staffing and children files, accurate staffing hours, creating substitute plan and actively adhering to it, trainings, supply ordering (with Regional assistance), program binder review and upkeep, weekly update of kids roster to share with host school admin, update and audit child records in playground.
  • Perform grassroots marketing, as needed to increase program enrollment and quality, attend community events as directed by Regional Director.
  • Communicate frequently and professionally with host school, children, licensing, and families through varies platforms (newsletter, bios, incident/accident updates, expenditures, budget tracking, succession planning, action plans, staff recognition, progressive discipline, orientation, trainings, and coaching plans).
  • Assist with setting up and licensing program space, as deemed necessary by the Regional Director.
  • Assist with interviewing new staff, as needed.
  • Provide continual communication with Regional Director and other Healthy Kids departments as needed.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be 21 years of age.
  • Possess high energy, be engaging, and a team player.
  • Be medically fit to perform job duties.
  • Successfully pass a TB test.
  • Be warm, friendly, caring with an upbeat personality and passion working with children.
  • Have excellent people skills in dealing with children, parents, host school, and site staff.
  • Be professional, reliable, attentive, and prompt daily.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

All candidates must have one of the following:

  • High School Diploma or GED, or qualifying documentation from a comparable educational entity; transcript that shows date of graduation; a document verifying graduation from another country; a letter from a Board of Education verifying completion AND four years of paid experience working with children.

OR

  • Bachelor's degree including, or in addition to, 12 credits in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field AND one year full-time teaching experience in a child day care center, family or group family day care home or other early childhood program. AND one year of experience supervising staff.

OR

  • Associate's degree in Early Childhood or related field with a plan of study leading to a Bachelor's degree AND two years full-time teaching experience in a child day care center, family or group family day care home, or other early childhood program AND Two years of experience supervising staff 

OR

  • Associates degree in Early Childhood AND Two years full-time teaching experience in a child day care center family or group family day care home, or other early childhood program AND two years of experience supervising staff.

OR

  • School Age Child Care Credential AND two years direct experience working with children under the age of 13, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity.
