Sleep Lab Tech -Prn

  Job Summary:

The Sleep Tech participates in a program of treatment, management, education, control diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities in sleep. Participates in other hospital and interdepartmental programs such as industrial medicine. Participates as an active member of the hospital’s customer satisfaction team. Additionally, he/she is responsible for functioning well as a member of the multidisciplinary team 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. 

Work Environment:  

This position has an OSHA Category I level of exposure to blood and body substances. Category I tasks are all procedures or other job-related tasks involving an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids or body tissues or a potential for spills or splashes with blood, body fluids or tissues. Use of appropriate protective measures is required for every employee engaged in Category I tasks.

• RPSGT, RRT, LRT, LPN, or RN
• One year certificate from college or technical school for respiratory care, nursing, or other allied health care profession.
• 1-3 years experience is preferred, but not required.
• 3-6 months related experience and/or training in sleep medicine preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Registry or certification in sleep desired, certification in respiratory care, nursing, or other allied health care field is desired.
• CPR/BCLS certification. (available to be obtained after hire)
• Basic computer skills
•  Able to make decisions under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and manage stress, anger, potential violence of others appropriately.
