Summary of Position

The SLP Program Manager is responsible for providing procedural guidance, coaching, and professional development to SLP staff. This role involves mentoring staff on expanding the continuum of speech services, championing inclusive learning environments, and ensuring the success of school associates within their respective roles.

The position requires expertise in Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction SLP procedures, staying current with evidence-based curriculum and teaching practices, and supporting staff in program development and compliance. Key areas of support include: SLP team evaluation and eligibility determination—including administering and interpreting norm-referenced and curriculum-based measures for instructional design and delivery—evidence-based intervention and curricular strategies, classroom management strategies, and curriculum development support.

Confidentiality

This position requires Level I access to Personal Health Information and educational records. The Program Manager must protect confidential information specific to students and families for the purposes of evaluations, meetings, compliance monitoring, and educational operations aligning with both FERPA and HIPPA guidelines.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain relationships with school administration and staff 
  • Provide support for hiring processes and orientation of new associates 
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to all assigned associates 
  • Conduct regular check-ins with associates focused on professional responsibilities, expectations, and professional goals 
  • Perform and document annual performance reviews with all assigned associates 
  • Contribute to budget planning, evaluate staff effectiveness and contract value, and assess resource capacity 
  • Ensure accurate review and approval of time and payroll records 
  • Authorize and approve associate paid time off (PTO) and continuing education requests 
  • Assist senior leadership in marketing and promoting awareness of services 
  • Support contracting processes with school district clients 
  • Assist associates in developing SLP programming and services to meet diverse student needs and align with district expectations, including: ? Design instruction, curriculum, rubrics, and assessments for specialized programs 
  • Lead program and associate evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather input for program development and goals 
  • Assist assigned associates in understanding SLP team evaluation, eligibility determination, and IEP development, including effective use of assessment data to identify collaborative student academic, behavioral, and socio-emotional needs and goals 
  • Provide administrative guidance to ensure associate compliance with SLP law and procedures

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology, Educational Leadership, or related field
  • Maintain a current WI Department of Instruction teaching license
  • Current knowledge of SLP law and regulations
  • Valid driver's license

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Speech Language Pathology
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in leadership or supervisory roles
  • Demonstrated experience in program development and implementation
  • Background in staff training and professional development
  • Experience with IEP development and compliance

*This position is part-time with the possibility of fulltime if the candidate would like to work part-time in the school setting.
