SoCal Food Service Assistant

Vision for the Role: To promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ through preparing and serving healthy and delicious food. Responsible for assisting in general kitchen responsibilities, such as cooking, cleaning, and serving meals to guests.

The Role: 

• Be a witness for Jesus Christ in all words and actions, sharing Christ’s love with the public, campers, and staff. 
• Responsible for maintaining a clean cooking and work area. 
• Responsible for assisting kitchen personnel in areas of need (line servers, dishwashers, helping to set up for meals and helping to clean up after meals). 
• Responsible for replenishing stock and preparing foods.

• Evidenced commitment to Jesus Christ and a desire to share the Gospel with others. 
• Must agree with Hume Lake’s Statement of Belief and be willing to abide by Hume Lake’s Code of Conduct. 
• Ability to be on-site while camp programs are in session 
• Demonstrate accurate food preparation and kitchen sanitation practices 
• To be able to move about the kitchen easily and quickly: productively 

Physical Requirements: 

• Physical requirements include bending, lifting, sitting, standing, stooping, stretching, walking, running, and possibly swimming. Hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and normal range of eyesight and hearing required to communicate with staff and manipulate camp equipment. Must operate with daily exposure to the cold, heat, rain, sun, and varying other weather conditions, as well as under irregular working hours in a camp environment.

Salary: Hourly,  $16.50
