Social Media Content Specialist

Summary:
FLT Academy is seeking a dynamic Social Media Content Specialist to join our media and marketing team. This role is all about capturing the student experience at FLT; highlighting our culture, showcasing student milestones, and creatively sharing what it’s like to train here. Your mission: build authentic, engaging content that connects with aspiring pilots and tells the real story of life at FLT Academy.

You’ll work primarily in short-form video formats (Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts), curating content that reflects our energy, professionalism, and the transformational journey our students go through. Expect to produce 1-2 minute videos on a regular basis, with occasional longer-form projects for YouTube or marketing campaigns.

This role is based at our Woods Cross campus with an initial six-month contract, with strong potential for long-term placement based on performance.

Your Day-to-Day Will Include:

• Capturing student success stories, training milestones, and day-in-the-life content


• Filming and editing short-form vertical videos optimized for social media platforms


• Curating and editing user-generated content from students and instructors


• Highlighting key partnerships through creative content


• Working in a mix of environments - hangars, cockpits, ramps, classrooms


• Managing the full production pipeline: filming, editing, exporting, and post scheduling


• Ensuring all content reflects the FLT Academy brand voice and style

What We’re Looking For:

• A portfolio of social media content (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts)


• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or other comparable editing software


• Experience with CapCut, InShot, VN, or other mobile editing apps


• Confidence working with cameras, lighting, and audio (on-the-go setups)


• Experience filming in high-movement or challenging environments


• Strong storytelling instincts, especially for turning raw footage into emotional and engaging pieces


• Familiarity with trends, hooks, captions, and audio strategies for social media growth


• Strong understanding of brand consistency, visual identity, and storytelling tone

Bonus Points If You Have:

• FAA Part 107 drone certification


• Photography skills or an eye for social photography


• A passion for aviation, flight training, or education


• Experience with social media strategy, analytics, and ad platforms (Meta/Google)

What FLT Academy Requires:

• Proven experience editing and publishing video for social media


• Solid understanding of video formatting, aspect ratios, and platform requirements


• Ability to work independently, manage a content calendar, and hit deadlines


• Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset


• Willingness to be on-site several days per week at our Woods Cross location


• Drug free and able to pass a background check


• Comfort with fast-paced environments and the occasional last-minute change of plans (welcome to aviation!)
