The Medical Education Learning Specialist serves as a key member of the Student Academic Success Team at A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA). This position supports osteopathic medical students through individualized academic coaching, learning strategy development, wellness-focused interventions, and collaborative student success programming. The Learning Specialist partners with faculty, advisors, counseling services, and student support teams to promote academic achievement, professional development, psychological well-being, and a strong sense of belonging across the medical education continuum.
The specialist provides proactive and responsive support for students experiencing academic difficulty, transitioning into rigorous learning environments, preparing for licensure examinations, or navigating personal and professional challenges that impact academic performance. The role emphasizes holistic student development, inclusive educational practices, and evidence-based learning interventions grounded in osteopathic medical education.
