Position Overview
Rocky Mountain Laboratories is hiring four Specimen Collectors to perform observed toxicology collections at our partner facilities in Cedar City and Saint George, Utah. This is a great entry-level opportunity for reliable, professional individuals who are comfortable traveling between two locations and working independently in a field setting.

We are hiring for two morning shift positions and two evening shift positions. Applicants may express interest in one or both shifts.

Schedule Summary: Workdays: Mondays and Thursdays only
Both shifts start in Cedar City and end in Sait George

• Morning Shift: 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM
• Evening Shift: 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM
• Taking both shifts is an option

*** Mileage reimbursement is provided for travel between sites and for commuting to the more distant starting site.

Responsibilities

• Perform observed urine specimen collections in accordance with established toxicology protocols
• Verify patient identity and maintain strict chain-of-custody documentation
• Enter and review patient and specimen information in the LIS (Laboratory Information System)
• Label and package specimens for secure transport
• Follow HIPAA and privacy compliance standards throughout the collection process
• Maintain a clean, professional collection environment
• Communicate respectfully and professionally with patients and partner facility staff
• Support courier team during evening shift transition if needed (e.g., supply transfer, pickups)
• Maintain a professional appearance and act as a representative of Rocky Mountain Laboratories in the field
• Report any issues or discrepancies to supervisors in a timely manner
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Certification in phlebotomy, CNA, EMT, or a related field preferred but not required
• Previous medical, lab, or customer-facing experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Comfortable traveling between Cedar City and Saint George twice per day
• Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and valid auto insurance
• Basic computer/data entry skills
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Must be comfortable performing observed collections while maintaining patient dignity and confidentiality

Compensation: Hourly Pay: $17.00 to $21.00 per hour, depending on experience

Work Location: Partner collection sites in Cedar City and Saint George, Utah
Must be willing and able to travel between sites during each shift

Benefits

• Mileage reimbursement at $0.70 per mile for:
  • Travel between Cedar City and Saint George
  • Commuting to the more distant start location (e.g., living in Saint George but starting in Cedar City)
• Paid training
• Opportunity for expanded hours if coverage needs arise
• Additional benefits are available to W2 full-time employees (consistent 30+ hours per week)
