NOW HIRING: SCHOOL-BASED Speech Language Pathologist 

Whole Child Therapy is a pediatric OT and speech practice founded and led by occupational therapists, not a staffing agency. We are hiring a school-based SLP for our school partner in La Verne, CA.

Speech Language Pathologist, School-Based - Part-Time Flexible Hours

$50 to $57/hour base

Primary Schedule:

  • School-based services: Primarily Mondays and Tuesdays in La Verne, CA
  • Optional clinic-based hours: Wednesday through Friday (flexible scheduling available)
  • Virtual options: Certain responsibilities like IEP meeting attendance can be completed remotely

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our awesome team. Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) experience (or interest in learning more) is also a plus!

What will you do:

As a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in this flexible role, you will play a crucial role in helping children reach their full potential through therapeutic interventions and activities. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate students' speech, language, and communication abilities
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Provide supervision and guidance to Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) in their delivery of therapy services
  • Develop and oversee treatment plans for SLPAs, ensuring they align with student goals and objectives
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of students receiving therapy services from SLPAs, providing feedback and guidance as needed
  • Participate in individualized education program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of IEP goals (virtual attendance options available)
  • Provide direct and consultative therapy services to students with a variety of speech and language disorders
  • Regularly communicate with parents and caregivers, providing updates on therapy progress and strategies for home reinforcement
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of therapy sessions, progress reports, and other relevant documentation
  • Utilize evidence-based techniques and interventions to improve students' speech, language, and social communication skills
  • Collaborate with teachers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, paraprofessionals, and other professionals to support students' overall development

Requirements

 

What were looking for:

  • Valid California licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathology Therapist
  • Previous experience working as a Speech Therapist in a school or pediatric setting is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, SLPAs, and other professionals
  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and report writing
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with current practices in speech therapy
  • Comfort with technology for virtual meeting participation and remote administrative tasks
