Sports Coordinator 1331 Southside Fitness - Part Time

Part -Time Position

M-TH 4 pm - 8pm with extra day during basketball league

JOB SUMMARY:  

Sports Coordinator is responsible for providing members and guests with a friendly, safe, and welcoming environment. Ensuring fair play on the basketball court, organize and implement fun pickup basketball games while ensuring the shared space with Group Exercise Classes is ready for classes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greeting and welcome members in a warm and friendly manner.
• Initiate,      develop and maintain personalized relationships with members and their children.
• Resolve conflicts in a swift and professional manner to include addressing  children on the basketball court during adult court time.
• Monitor and interact with children to maintain a safe and healthy environment  with respect to the basketballs/volleyballs, other children and surroundings
• Quickly and  efficiently respond t members’ questions, comments and concerns.
• Clean and maintain basketball court, bleachers, storage and safety pads. 
•  Organize and Implement Adult Basketball and tournaments.
• Obtain & compare information from area sport organizations for comparable pricing on  league fees & concession items.
• Recruiting and encouraging members to participate and organize teams, ensuring the sufficient number of teams are signed up for leagues/tournaments. 
• Collection of   payments for league fees and ensuring proper credit is given in accounting software
• Ordering and payment for T-shirts, any needed uniforms, prizes or trophies.
• Scheduling  and organizing officials in a timely manner at a comparable rate of pay.
• Maintain a structured basketball court with organized pick-up game   schedules while also maintaining a safe environment for group exercise classes.
• Understands and upholds CentroMed’s mission and values relating to ethics, integrity, safety, corporate responsibility and objectives
• Actively participates in maintaining  high levels of excellent customer service internally and externally
• Abides by all policies and procedures set forth by CentroMed
• Ensure the protection and security of all personal, confidential and identifiable information in a professional  and responsible manner and carry out all measures to prevent unauthorized disclosures. Demonstrating and maintaining the standards and requirements of   the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
• Assists in training new employees in performing their job duties as requested.
• Performs all duties in conformance   to appropriate safety and security standards.
•  Performs other duties assigned.
• Work must   be performed on-site as designated 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education    High School Diploma or equivalent

Infant/child and adult CPR, first aid and AED certification (must obtain within 60 days of hire date)

Experience    Six months to a year working with sports leagues, specializing in basketball play.  

Other      Highly motivated and energetic

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Organizational skills and strong attention to detail, multi tasks and learn quickly

Team player, willing to cover, or trade shifts as necessary

   Bilingual/Bicultural (preferred)   

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 Must be able to perform the   essential functions of the position.

·Must be able to deliver   excellent customer service, externally and internally

 Must be able to meet the   attendance requirements of the position.

·Work must be performed at   designated on-site location(s)

·Must not pose a threat to the   health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.

·Physical ability to lift up to   20 pounds unassisted.
