Spurgeon College exists to train and equip students to be experts in souls and Scripture for the Kingdom. Fusion produces Christlike men and women committed to a lifetime of making disciples for God’s glory. The Spurgeon College Assistant contributes to this mission by assisting Spurgeon College adjunct professors, coordinating Fusion events, managing the Fusion communications plan, and assisting partnership development.
Wildly Important Goal: Host 170 students for campus visits.
Assist Spurgeon College Adjunct Professors
Ø Key Result: Complete full adjunct checklist in cooperation with Director of Academic Services.
Coordinate Fusion Events On-Campus
Coordinate recruiting events on campus (Fusion Youth Weekend, campus visits, Preview Days).
Ø Key Result: Gather 214 attendees for Fusion Youth Weekend.
Ø Key Result: Finalize major event details (speaker, music, reservations) at least two months prior to event.
Coordinate program events on campus (orientation, stories from the field, ceremonies).
Manage Fusion Communications Plan
Ø Key Result: Post every 5 days on Fusion’s Instagram account..
Ø Key Result: Send out a monthly Fusion newsletter.
Ø Key Result: Send out admit packages within one week of admittance.
Assist Partnership Development
Throughout the year, this role typically will be conducted during business hours at Midwestern: M-F, 8:00am – 4:30pm. The normal setting is a professional, office setting.
However, there are a handful of training and recruiting events that will require around-the-clock supervision and participation. Some travel will be part of the role as well, especially domestic travel. Additionally, this role is highly relational due to the supervision of advocates and interns. It is not uncommon for this role to include phone calls, emails, texts, or personal meetings outside business hours to provide support to these young leaders. A flexible spirit toward these abnormal working hours is essential.
This role on the Fusion team primarily conducts business in a professional office setting. The team member can expect long days filled with significant amounts of reading (i.e. applications), writing (email correspondence, proposals, etc.), talking (planning meetings, prospect phone calls), walking (giving campus tours, running an event), standing (booth presence), and sitting (desk work). Additionally, this role is likely to include a fair amount of domestic travel for recruiting events which takes a kind of physical toll.
There may be opportunities within the role for physical activity of a more strenuous nature as part of the larger Fusion framework. These opportunities would be optional rather than expected. This may include participating in Fusion’s training events or deployment visits.
