About the Role:
Join McKenney Home Care as a Compassionate Caregiver, Professional Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for short shifts in the beautiful SRQ area. We are dedicated to providing compassionate care to our clients, and we invite you to be a part of our caring team! You do not need prior experience in this role but must have a strong will to help others.
Key Responsibilities of a Caregiver:
- Personal Care: Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Ensure that clients maintain personal hygiene and comfort.
- Medication Reminders: Remind to take prescribed medications, monitor for side effects, and ensure compliance with healthcare plans. This includes keeping track of medication schedules and dosages.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare and serve nutritious meals based on dietary restrictions or preferences and assist clients with feeding if necessary.
- Mobility Assistance: Help clients move safely within their homes or between locations, including transferring from beds, wheelchairs, or vehicles using proper body mechanics.
- Household Tasks: Perform light housekeeping duties, such as laundry, cleaning, and organizing, to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment for clients.
- Companionship: Providing emotional support is a crucial part of a caregiver's role. Engage clients in meaningful activities, such as conversation, hobbies, or light exercise, to promote mental well-being.
- Monitoring Health: Observe and report changes in clients’ physical or mental health to Nursing staff promptly. Document detailed records of care provided and any noticeable changes in the client’s condition.
- Following Care Plans: Adhere to prescribed Plan of Cares and report any discrepancies to the Nursing staff promptly.
Employment Requirements:
- Compassionate demeanor with empathy for others.
- Previous experience in home care or a similar healthcare setting is a plus but NOT required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with proof of auto insurance.
- Willingness to complete CPR Certification (hands-on class) - we offer a $50-$60 course.
- Willingness to complete FL-AHCA background check.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including short shifts from 2-4 hours in the Sarasota/Venice Area.
Pay Rate: MCK is transparent with the services and employment we provide. We hire from $17-$20/hr, please see below:
- $17/hr- those who do not have professional experience/licensing for healthcare
- $17.50-$18/hr - those licensed as a certified 75hr Home Health Aide through a school or tech center
- $18-$19/hr - those licensed as a Certified Nursing Assistant
- $20/hr - any shift scheduled for a 2-hour block of time pays $20/hr
