Description
The Steward/Dishwasher/Food Preparer is primarily responsible for facilitating the orderly cleaning and storage of china, glassware, silver and related food preparation and cooking equipment thereby ensuring that sufficient quantities of each exist at all times. The Steward/Dishwasher/Food Preparer is also responsible for supporting the food preparation needs of the culinary staff for all events. The Steward/Dishwasher/Food Preparer will maintain cleanliness standards that are consistent with the goals and objectives of the conference center, off-site catering and hotel while meeting or exceeding health regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that the bistro, lounge, off-site catering and banquet areas are supplied with all clean glassware, china, silver and other related equipment
- Ensure all pots, pans, cooking utensils and other related equipment are clean
- Properly operate automatic dishwasher
- Wash, rinse and sanitize in a three-bay sink
- Clean, sanitize and maintain equipment, kitchen, work surfaces and comply with all Company standards and local board of health requirements
- Proper floor sweeping and mopping
- Break down boxes and dispose of in proper dumpster
- Use recycle bins properly
- Monitor kitchen waste and empty containers and trash bins when needed
- Abide by proper food handling and storage procedures
- Assist with plating banquet meals
- Assist cooks with food prep and/or food serving tasks
- Combine lunch box components for groups when needed
- Ability to work well with a diverse group of people
- Report safety concerns to management
- Actively seek out other tasks when current work is complete
- Participate in ongoing education and training
- Other duties as assigned
