Store Assistant

George School, a Quaker boarding/day grades 9-12 college preparatory school located in Newtown, Bucks County, PA has an opening for a part-time School Store Assistant.  This position has a flexible schedule, but is expected to work 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities:  

• Assist manager with daily operations of the school store.
• Assist customers (i.e., faculty, staff, students, administrators) during checkout and accept various forms of payment.)
• Perform weekly shopping and inventory.
• Maintain vending machines.
• Ensure the store is cleaned and organized.
• Assist with training and supervising volunteers and student workers.
• Assist with placing orders and managing inventory.
• Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, administrators, and other community members.
• Provide excellent customer service.

• Two years of work experience in retail operations.
• Must have a valid and current driver’s license.
• Ability to work a flexible weekday schedule and some weekend shifts.
• Must understand general principles and practices of cash management and inventory control related to retail sales operation.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift 30 lbs.
