STUDENT RESIDENT (Year-round) ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Student Residents report to the Student Pastor as part of The Heights Student Ministry. He/she positions Heights Students for maximum impact by enabling Heights Students to be present in the lives of as many students as possible, to be reaching out to more schools, and to have more staff members present at weekly gatherings and special events to build relationships with students.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Weekly On-Campus Ministry (7 hours/week)
- Sunday Mornings (3–4 hours): Serve in the Student Ministry Sunday environment by leading a Life Group, welcoming new students, encouraging volunteers, and providing follow-up connections.
- Wednesday Nights (3–4 hours): Support the execution of The Brick—our midweek gathering—through setup, hosting, engaging students, and cultivating a welcoming atmosphere for guests and regulars alike.
- Special Events: Participate in Special Events like Serve Dallas and Chi Alpha, serving as small group leaders and an active participant in planning meetings.
Relational Ministry & School Engagement (10–12 hours/week)
- Meet weekly with students in your assigned grade for relational discipleship (e.g., lunches, coffee, after-school meetups).
- Maintain relationships with students to create a base of students that can be discipled and have regularly scheduled discipleship meetings, and equip students to become disciple-makers capable of repeating the discipleship process.
- Attend school events, games, performances, and clubs to maintain a consistent and encouraging presence in the lives of students.
- Partner with school programs (e.g., Plano East Football, Sachse Baseball) to serve coaches and teams in tangible, Christ-like ways.
- Work with the THSM staff team to dream and implement school-based outreach initiatives, including: Grade-specific outreach strategies, large-scale school worship nights, team chapels and on-campus Christian influence moments
Ministry Planning & Team Contribution (1–3 hours/week)
- Participate in weekly THSM Staff Meetings.
- Collaborate with staff on event planning, communication strategies, and follow-up.
- Regularly report grade-specific updates (wins, stories, needs, and challenges).
- Assist with creative planning and student mobilization efforts for key ministry moments (retreats, outreach nights, etc.).

RELATIONSHIPS
Executive Pastor of Ministries: The Student Resident reports indirectly to the Executive Pastor of Ministries. He/she is expected to be coachable, available, and responsive to him/her while striving for a healthy, Christ-like relationship characterized by love, truth, and unity.
Student Pastor: The Student Resident reports directly to the Student Pastor. He/she is expected to be coachable, available, and responsive to him/her while striving for a healthy, Christ-like relationship characterized by love, truth, and unity.
The Heights Ministers: The Student Resident collaborates with other Heights pastors and staff, serves as a resource and encouragement to them, and partners with them effectively to achieve maximum Kingdom impact.
