Hours: Days, Monday - Friday.  No weekends or holidays.

We take great pride in transporting our passengers to their desired destination. Who We Serve: EMT serves organizations in the St. Louis, Missouri metro and surrounding areas, including neighboring areas in Illinois, as well as Cumberland, Maryland. These organizations include school districts, hospitals, doctor's offices, and more. We also transport individuals and families to and from appointments or simply when they need a ride.

Position Summary:   We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Transportation Aide to assist in the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school and related activities. The ideal candidate will work closely with students, parents, and dispatch to ensure a positive and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

•   Assist students in boarding and disembarking from the vehicle safely.
• Monitor student behavior during transportation to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
• Provide support to student with special needs, ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and dispatch any issues that may arise.
• Maintain a clean and organized transportation area.
• Report any incidents or concerns to the dispatch.

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to pass a fingerprint background check and DOT 10-panel drug screening.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on safety, respectful, compassionate service and timeliness.
• Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR/AED certification, or willingness to obtain certification within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to work independently and as a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on timeliness and safety.
• Previous knowledge of the functionality of special equipment, such as wheelchair lifts and securement systems, preferred.
• Effective communication skills
• Patience and understanding when working with people with a wide range of disabilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding client information.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and evacuation procedures
• Capability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors in a calm and safe manner.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work cooperatively with drivers to ensure passenger safety.
• Understanding of and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations pertaining to the transportation of individuals with disabilities
