Substitute Teacher Pool (Immediate Placement)

Position Overview

Ethos Classical seeks dependable and adaptable educators to join our Substitute Teacher Pool. Substitute Teachers ensure continuity of instruction and care during staff absences by maintaining high expectations for scholar learning, behavior, and safety. This role is essential to preserving a calm, structured, and joyful learning environment aligned to Ethos Classical’s mission for scholars in Grades K-6.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement lesson plans and classroom routines as provided by the lead teacher


• Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful classroom environment


• Uphold school-wide expectations, policies, and procedures


• Support scholar learning through whole-group, small-group, and independent activities


• Manage scholar behavior using clear, consistent, and constructive practices


• Communicate relevant notes or observations to the lead teacher and school leadership


• Collaborate with administrators and staff as needed throughout the school day


• Adapt effectively across grade levels, content areas, and classroom settings

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required (Bachelor’s degree preferred)


• Prior experience working with children or in a school setting strongly preferred


• Strong communication and classroom management skills


• Ability to follow instructional plans and school routines with fidelity


• Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and sound judgment


• Flexibility and willingness to support varying grade levels and subjects


• Successful completion of a background check and all required clearances
