Francis Parker School (Parker) is a coeducational independent day school in San Diego, California with 1,330 students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12. Job Description:

Parker seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated and passionate individual to be responsible for the instruction of swimming and water safety to students.

Requirements

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provide basic instruction to students focusing on water safety, stroke development and overall aquatic skills
• Provide a safe environment for all students
• Instill confidence in students in a safe and supportive environment
• Promote a love for swimming and the water
• Setup and breakdown of the pool
• Communicate information properly to the supervisor
• Foster positive relationships with the team and students

Qualifications:

• American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certificate or equivalent experience
•  American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certificate preferred
• American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, or equivalent preferred 
• American Red Cross Standard First Aid, or equivalent preferred
• Knowledge of pool safety rules
• Previous experience with working with kids
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

Salary and Benefits:

This is a part-time, seasonal position paying $25.00-$28.00 per hour depending on experience. This position is not eligible for benefits.
