Support Partner (Direct Support Professional)

Values Into Action provides individualized support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our mission is to help people to design and live their best lives, and be active members within their communities.

As a Support Partner (DSP) you will be providing direct support in partnership with people with disabilities, on a one-to-one basis, in their own homes and communities. Services include that of community involvement and/or accommodation with activities of daily living including personal care, communication, transportation and recreation.

We are looking to partner with people who are creative, energetic and like to have fun. We are looking for people who want to ensure that ALL people's rights are secured, that people can live a self-determined life and who believe in equity!

We are hiring for a part-time position in Springfield, PA for the following schedule:

Monday through Friday: 9AM - 12:30PM

DETAILS of PERSON SUPPORTED:

A very sociable and caring woman is looking for an ideal staff to assist with activities of daily living and to support her everyday life in her home and out in the community. She is a big music 60s-70s music fan and is very kindhearted. Her days typically involve at least one trip to the gym. Activities outside of the gym typically include making food with staff's guidance (sometimes stopping somewhere for a bite to eat or a drink to sip on), rides to different churches and spending time with her father back at her house. 

The ideal staff will be able to multitask and participate in her preferred activities. We are looking for a supports partner who is outgoing, energetic, sociable and patient, who will ensure that this woman lives her best, safe and happy everyday life. 

The ideal Support Partner will be able to do light workouts at the gym (or at least supervise while she is exercising) and is open to taking her to different places she might want to go visit.

• Possession of a valid driver's license with a safe driving record 
• Access to a reliable vehicle, proof of current vehicle registration, inspection, and insurance
• 18 years of age or older 
• Be or willing to be Covid-19 Vaccinated prior to employment
