Surgical Technologist II .6 Weekends

Within Franciscan Health, the Surgical Technologist III performs various tasks supporting perioperative services within the Franciscan team. This position assists multiple disciplines within the operating room by preparing patients and equipment for procedures, and maintaining environmental standards. This position, also, provides technical assistance to surgeons by anticipating procedures and equipment. The Surgical Technologist measures and passes medications, hemostatic agents, and other solutions.

. Weekends only

·         Day shift

·         Arrange instrument trays

·         Prepare sterile drapes and solutions,

·         Assist with prep of patients as needed.

·         Pass instruments to surgeons and surgical assistants.

·         May assist with sponge, needle, and other supply counts to track materials used in surgery.

·         May operate suction, diagnostic, and sterilizing equipment, and package specimens to take for laboratory analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS

·         High School Diploma/GED Required

·         1 year Surgery Preferred

·         Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association within 90 Days Required and

·         Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA Required
