Moro's Kitchen, a popular Skaneateles village restaurant, is looking to hire a Sushi Cook to join our team.
Ideal Sushi Cook candidates will have some Sushi Cook experience and the ability to roll and plate sushi to order in a fast-paced setting. This candidate should be able to make tight, precise rolls, portion and slice fish, and cook and season sushi rice to our standard. This position also requires opening oysters to order, plating and making desserts and some salads. A Sushi Cook must be able to follow house recipes and prep the menu items for service. Being able to make sauces is preferred, but not a must; we will train this candidate on how we like them done. We are a growing company and there are possibilities for advancement within the team.
The restaurant is open Wednesday through Sunday.

Job duties:
* Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
* Follow recipes and presentation specifications
* Operate standard kitchen equipment safety and efficiently
* Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
* Assist with the cleaning and organization of kitchen equipment
* Restock items as needed throughout the shift
* Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
Salary: $17-$20 per hour
Must have weekend availability.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create menus according to season and customer research
- Set up the kitchen with necessary tools and equipment
- Prepare food and present it in an appealing manner
- Supervise and delegate tasks to other team members
- Maintain appropriate levels of inventory and restock when necessary
- Follow all food safety regulations
- Participate in daily kitchen opening and closing procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned by the head chef or management
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
- ServeSafe or Food Handler’s Certification
- Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques and recipes
- Ability to remain calm and thrive under pressure
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 pounds
