Primary Responsibilities:

Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum

Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents

Evaluates students’ progress and completes required documentation in a timely manner

Interacts professionally with parents/guardians after each swim lesson on the activities and development of students’ swim skills

Uses problem-solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter

Assists with setting up the pool prior to lessons and cleaning up after lessons, including proper storage of all pool equipment and lane lines

Attend required/mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours

Job Requirements and Skills:

No experience is necessary. With paid training provided, this is a great job for recent high school graduates and/or college students.

Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider is a plus!

Weekend availability required

Ability to work with children

Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills

Must pass background examinations (included with training)

Instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider a plus

High School Diploma/GED required, Some College preferred

Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications are obtainable by employees in the future, and are rewarded with additional compensation upon completion

For those not certified, Goldfish Swim School provides training at no cost to the employee while they undergo their paid training

Certification courses in our facility, which all employees are required to complete within 3 months of employment.

Starting Pay Rate: $16.50/hour with regular opportunities for wage increase

Compensation: $16.50 - $17.00 per hour
