The St. Cloud Area Family YMCA is seeking a passionate and energetic Swim Instructor Lead to inspire confidence, teach life-saving skills, and make a lasting impact in the community! 

As the Swim instructor Lead, you will be responsible for the administration and instruction of the YMCA swim lesson programs. This part-time position ensures smooth program operations by managing class rosters, handling communications, and providing high-quality swim instruction.

As a Swim Instructor Lead, you will will: 

• Update and maintain class rosters, ensuring accurate records.
• Assist with participant registration, class placements, and parent communication.
• Ensure compliance with YMCA policies and safety standards.
• Manage the daily operations of the swim lesson program, including lesson scheduling, staffing, and customer communications.
• Conduct regular evaluations of instructors, providing constructive feedback and fostering professional growth.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns related to swim lessons.
• Ensure swim lesson equipment and facilities are properly maintained and ready for use.
• Teach group, semi-private and private swim lessons for a variety of age groups and skill levels.
• Provide a safe, engaging, and educational environment for all participants.
• Evaluate participant progress and communicate with families about achievements and next steps.
• Lead, train, and mentor swim instructors, ensuring they are equipped to deliver high-quality lessons.
• Ensure all safety standards are followed by instructors and participants.

Requirements

 Qualifications: 

• Must be 18 years or older
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Previous swim instruction experience required; YMCA Swim Instructor certification preferred.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication, customer service, and a positive attitude.
