Job Description - TA for CTW



Part-time


Description

Position Purpose

Curate resources for Center for Theological Writing (CTW) and coordinate outreach to online and residential students with writing instruction.

Essential Functions

Coordinate the distribution of CTW materials (60%)

  • Maintain handouts in racks outside the CTW office
  • Update the CTW website as needed
  • Curate theological writing handouts on the CTW Canvas site
  • Post CTW materials on Circle for Online students
  • Coordinate with the Residential (Res) program staff to distribute CTW resources to Res students

Consult with Masters’ students about writing assignments (apologetics, biblical studies, etc.) (30%)

Other responsibilities as required by supervisor (10%)

Requirements

Skills

  • Excellent writing skills
  • Knowledge of English rhetoric and grammar
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to teach students of varying abilities
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Qualifications

  • Current residential WTS student
  • Experience in editing and teaching writing
  • Cross-cultural communication experience

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Work on-campus in the CTW office in the Andreas Center

Work Schedule

  • Twelve hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. Total work time from all seminary employment may not exceed 1,250 hours in the preceding 12 months.
