A take-out specialist, also known as a to-go specialist, is a restaurant employee responsible for managing all aspects of ONLINE/ PHONE IN AND CARRY OUT ORDERS, including taking orders over the phone and in person, processing payments, packaging meals accurately, and providing excellent customer service at the pickup counter or curbside. Key duties also involve maintaining a clean and organized to-go station, using the point of sale (POS) system, and understanding the menu to assist guests. This role requires strong communication skills, multitasking ability, and a positive attitude to ensure a smooth and efficient take-out experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Interaction:
- Greet guests with enthusiasm, take their orders accurately, and provide information about menu items.
- Order Processing:
- Use the point of sale (POS) system to ring in orders, handle payments, and process them correctly.
- Order Preparation:
- Package orders carefully, ensure accuracy, and label them for efficient distribution to guests.
- Sanitation & Organization:
- Maintain a clean and organized to-go station, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
- Menu Knowledge:
- Possess strong knowledge of the menu, including ingredients and seasonal changes, to answer questions and make recommendations.
- Teamwork:
- Collaborate with other team members and assist with various duties as needed.
