TCT Afterschool Paraprofessional

Miami Children’s Museum is seeking an energetic and dedicated TCT Afterschool Paraprofessional to join our afterschool team at Goulds Elementary School! This role is perfect for those who love working with children and want to make a positive impact in an educational, creative, and playful environment.

The Afterschool Paraprofessional is responsible for supervising a class of students, planning and leading daily lessons, and creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children in your care at all times.
• Plan and implement daily lesson plans and enrichment activities that foster creativity, exploration, and discovery.
• Encourage learning through storytelling, drama, music, science, math, social studies, and hands-on experiences in Museum galleries.
• Track attendance and maintain accurate sign-in/out records.
• Support positive behavior with encouragement, incentives, and redirection strategies.
• Work collaboratively with schoolteachers, certified instructors, and Museum staff to meet each child’s needs.
• Maintain classroom materials, ensuring they are neat, organized, and in good condition.
• Communicate with parents and caregivers in a professional, positive manner.
• Participate in trainings, professional development, and team meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Working toward an associate degree (or higher) in Education or a related field (two years of college credits may substitute).
• Minimum 1 year of experience leading groups of children in an educational setting (experience at the Museum is a plus).
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Must pass Level 2 background screening (fingerprints) and drug test.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification (or willingness to obtain).
