Kindergarten Classroom Teacher Aide

  Part-Time Kindergarten Classroom Aide
 Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays

  7:30-3:30 = 3 days a week 

St. James School seeks a caring, patient, and enthusiastic individual to serve as a part-time Kindergarten Classroom Aide. The aide will support the classroom teacher in providing a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for our youngest learners. This role involves helping the Kindergarten teacher with daily routines, classroom management, and instructional activities.  Assists teacher in maintains order in classroom, cafeteria and on playground.

  Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Kindergarten teacher with supervision of students during lessons, activities, and transitions
• Support small group or individual instruction under the teacher’s direction
• Follow the directions of the Kindergarten teacher and be ready to step in wherever she needs support
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly classroom -be prepared to clean up after students 
• Assist with preparing materials and setting up activities
• Accompany students to specials, recess, and other school-related areas as needed
• Monitor students during bathroom breaks, snack/lunch, outdoor play and specials
• Support positive behavior reinforcement and social-emotional development according to the teacher’s      classroom management procedures 
• Collaborate with the teacher and staff to create a warm, nurturing atmosphere
